Our presenter is Dr. Lindsey Shapiro, Chair of the English
Department
Of Herzog Academic College.
Dr.
Shapiro has presented in our 2017 Annual International Conference with
great success and her session has been often commented on by several
members. A passionate EFL educator and an extremely modest person, Dr.
Shapiro has her own individual presentation style. In our February
webinar she is going to run a webinar entitled ''"Learning vocabulary in
communities: The negotiation of meaning"
Dr. Shapiro has written about this session: There is ample research to support the idea that
when the meaning of a subject is negotiated in a community of learners,
they assume a stronger ownership of the material and learning is enhanced. This
talk will discuss how vocabulary knowledge can be expanded and developed when
the class works as a community to negotiate its meaning.
